今季尾球壇再次失去重要人物！38歲的碧咸早前到訪內地時還表示未打算退休，但在為PSG贏得19年來第一個法甲冠軍後他宣佈將於季尾退休！
碧咸發表聲明指自己感謝PSG給他機會續約，但現在的高峰令他覺得是時候結束自己的職業生涯 (I’m thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level)
連同這個法甲冠軍，碧咸一共取得19個冠軍，當中有10個是聯賽冠軍。他亦是第一名英格蘭球員在四個足球聯賽中取得冠軍。他14歲加入成名地曼聯，為球隊上陣398場並在曼聯贏得6個英超冠軍，更協助曼聯成為歐洲賽場中的皇者。後來他跟費sir不和，於2003年轉投皇馬贏得西甲冠軍。
然後於2007年轉到美職聯為洛杉磯銀河贏得冠軍
其間他曾短暫外借到AC米蘭
如今他更成為法甲PSG奪冠的重要一員！
在英格蘭國家隊內碧咸也由衝動的小子成長為球隊領袖，取得115頂喼帽。(“I knew every time I wore the Three Lions shirt, I was not only following in a long line of great players, I was also representing every fan that cared passionately about their country.”)
